New York City government has 23,000 job vacancies - five times as many than at the start of the pandemic. Thousands of public sector workers have been running for the exits but there are reforms and policy changes our political leaders can and must embrace to retain top talent and recruit a high-performing workforce. By focusing on recruitment, retention and modernizing government, we can stop the attrition 'doom spiral' and build the strong, effective, and responsive government New Yorkers need. Join Grace Rauh, Executive Director of the 5BORO Institute for this insightful conversation.
