4 Ways to Get Your Foot in the Door to a New Career

EARLY CAREER CONNECTIONS & MID-CAREER PIVOTS

Regardless of your professional background, a successful mid-career pivot is possible with the right approach. In this session with Flatiron School Career Coach Betsy Kent, you’ll learn 4 new strategies for engaging with prospective employers to help you stand out from the crowd as you pivot into your new career.

Betsy Kent

Bridget Finkeldey

Betsy Kent is a Career Coach on the Flatiron School Career Services team, where she has had a front row seat to 100+ job searches, serving as a strategic guide and success partner to Flatiron School software engineering and data science graduates pivoting to new careers in tech. In this role Betsy commonly works with students to overcome imposter syndrome, to identify and market their unique skills and strengths with confidence, and to develop an effective job search strategy that enables them to strategically and creatively break into a tech career, no matter what their background may be. In addition to her work at Flatiron School, Betsy has a private career coaching practice where she shows clients how to find flexible, purpose driven jobs without more school, mind drama or a resume. Betsy began her career as an attorney on Wall Street and holds a J.D. degree from Vanderbilt University Law School and a Bachelor’s degree from UPenn.
